The Museum of Communication aims to study, collect, preserve and exhibit items that tell the story of communication from the days of pre-electric telegraph to the latest state-of-the-art technology. A new exhibition is mounted each year, open for visitors usually between May and September. The Museum runs a popular lecture programme covering a wide range of topics often with a local slant. MOCARS is the Museum's Amateur Radio Society and operates from a purpose built radio room using equipment from the collection. The Museum welcomes visits by groups outwith the season by prior arrangement.
