Agritourism

Agritourism is defined as Tourism or leisure on a working farm, croft or estate which produces food. This can include but is not limited to:

  • Farm accommodation such as glamping, farm houses and hotels
  • Farm tours, experiences and sports
  • Farm events such as barn weddings, festivals and harvests
  • Buying fresh farm produce direct from a farmer by visiting a farm shop

Agritourism has the opportunity for strong economic growth, creating rural jobs and supporting family employment. It supports a sustainable food and tourism sector, lowering food miles and raising the profile of quality Scottish food and drink grown on farms in Scotland.
