With home schooling now officially over and restrictions starting to ease, we’ve been looking at how we inspire that important family market when the remainder of tourism businesses potentially reopen on 15 July.
This week we’ve launched our new Little Adventures video. A short animation which aims to show Scotland through the eyes of our younger visitors.
Join Hannah and Jack, our cartoon kids, as they share a scrapbook packed with ideas of things they want to do the length and breadth of the country, from St Ninian's Isle on Shetland right down to St Abbs in the Scottish Borders.
The activity, which follows our successful Sketching Scotland series, is the latest in our efforts to help visitors ‘dream now and travel later’.

It’s been four months since lockdown started and it’s clear that as restrictions start to ease people, particularly those with children, are looking for opportunities to travel. With this in mind, we wanted to create something that would inspire families and help promote that staycation message.
We loved the idea of a scrapbook and the chance to show Scotland through the eyes of children, using our imaginations to see landmarks and locations in new ways. So, in the video you’ll see Hannah and Jack looking for witches at Glamis Castle, riding on the Kelpies or meeting a giant at Arthur’s Seat. As with all our work at the moment we wanted to show that you don’t have to travel far to enjoy Scotland. We are a country full of Little Adventures.

We launched our new marketing strategy recently, focused on helping rebuild tourism as businesses prepare to reopen. The strategy, which includes broadcast and digital advertising, will target the Scottish domestic market first of all, before expanding to the rest of the UK and include activity with popular travel platforms such as TripAdvisor and Expedia.
