Dunfermline and West Fife Local Tourism Association (LTA) is reaching out to local visitor businesses to encourage them to ‘join up’ to help promote the area.
The LTA includes local businesses and partner organisations, with a mission to promote the area, to attract and inform more visitors.
The LTA is currently working with the Dunfermline Heritage Partnership to compile a comprehensive record of tourist openings in the area, from Kincardine in the west, along to Aberdour, and from the coastline of the Forth up to Knockhill. This is part of a new promotional campaign which is being developed following a successful bid to VisitScotland’s Growth Fund.
Along with a comprehensive record of local attractions, the LTA is creating a database of tourism friendly businesses which deliver services that visitors look for, everything from accommodation to transport providers.
Donald Mackenzie, Chair of the LTA, said “This is a significant opportunity for local businesses to raise their profile and take advantage of the growth in tourism in the area. The promotional campaign should bring more visitors to the area, and we want businesses to be ready to take advantage of the opportunities for them.
As well as joining the LTA, we would encourage businesses to register with Fife Tourism Partnership. There are various benefits such as access to training courses, advice on funding, resources for marketing and promotion, and the chance to network and work with like-minded businesses.”
