Festive Fun at Kirkcaldy’s Party Saturdays

Mon 2 Dec 19

Over the past few weeks, Santa and his reindeer have ridden into town and the Christmas lights have been switched on, and Santa’s grotto has opened and there is yet more festive fun coming to Kirkcaldy over advent. On 7th and 14th December The Mercat Shopping Centre is holding Christmas Party Saturdays with lots more free entertainment, including giveaways and craft workshops. Families are encouraged to don their Christmas jumpers and join in with the party, with Kingdom FM bringing its roadshow to get everyone in the festive spirit.

The Key to Christmas competition in association with Kingdom FM will give shoppers in the Mercat on Saturday 7th and Saturday 14th the chance to win £1000 cash. Pick a key from one of our trees next to Toytown, if it opens the safe you will win the £1000 cash inside, shop local and WIN!

All the entertainment on the Party Saturdays is free but there will be collections for Save the Children and donations for the Kirkcaldy Foodbank. The Kingdom FM Toy Collection Box is located at Toytown in the Mercat Shopping Centre and donations of (new) toys will be given to the Cottage Family Centre for distribution to vulnerable families in the local area. The Kingdom FM Food Bank Collection Box is located at Poundland.

Mercat Centre Manager, Stephen Roberts said: ‘We are delighted to be continuing with our fabulously festive family offer for customers, and the chance to WIN £1000 cash would hopefully make for an amazing Christmas for one lucky family. We have lots of free crafts, entertainment and treats to add some fun to your shop local Christmas this year.’

Kirkcaldy 4 All’s Christmas Star Trail is also in full swing. Thirty stars, some over a metre tall, are displayed in shop windows in the town centre with a map available at participating business or online at www.kirkcaldy4all.co.uk. The stars have been decorated by local schools, charities and artists and some even by the businesses themselves. Families who spot all the stars will be entered into a prize draw to win a £100 shopping voucher.

And for the adults, Kirkcaldy 4 All has organised a Candy Cane Cocktail Trail. Nine bars and pubs in Kirkcaldy are selling special candy cane cocktails. These also feature on a map, and those who post a selfie of themselves online enjoying their cocktail (or mocktail!) also have the chance to win a spot prize.
