Digital Scotland's Showcase is coming to Fife House on Monday 29 August 2016.
The Showcase demonstration bus, which features some of the technology on board used in the deployment of fibre broadband, will be in Fife Council's car park at Fife House from 12 noon until 2.30pm.
Fibre broadband has been steadily deployed throughout the Kingdom, with over 44k premises now able to upgrade to faster speeds, thanks to the Digital Scotland programme.
Staff are encouraged to pop down and have a chat with Digital Scotland's Samantha Lindsay-Dorward - 'Superfast Sam' - to find out how fibre broadband could make a difference to both you and your family. It's a great opportunity to find out more about the technology used in the most ambitious engineering project Fife has ever seen.
The Digital Scotland Programme seeks to provide fibre broadband to those areas not covered by the commercial network roll outs in both rural and urban areas.
Sam said: "Our lives are more connected than ever and Superfast Broadband can make things even easier. The most important message Digital Scotland has for Fifers is that they need to 'opt in'. An upgrade does not happen automatically, so people need to get in touch with a service provider.
"Deployment in Fife has been widespread, but the job's not done yet! It can be difficult to tell people exactly when they will get fibre broadband for a variety of different reasons, and I can answer any of your questions and also explain to people why there are challenges in some areas.
"We're also looking for local champions - people who would be happy to help spread the word in enabled areas, and help their neighbours upgrade."
Have you already upgraded to fibre, and do you have a good story to tell? Digital Scotland is looking for individuals/families/businesses to feature as case studies. These will be used in the press as well as social media, and all those taking part will be entered into a prize draw to win £500 worth of vouchers!
The Showcase will also be at Cardenden Village Fair,Wallsgreen Park, Cardenden, on Sunday 28th August from 11am.
