An overwhelming number of entrepreneurs across the UK have been applying to the world's largest business accelerator, Entrepreneurial Spark, to try and win a spot on the programme and scale their business and Shona Jones, Director of Holiday Essentials Scotland Ltd & caretaker Manager of Carol's Shop in Elie, has done just that.
Holiday Essentials was started in October 2014 and was originally making up welcome boxes for holiday lets only. However, within the first week Shona had been asked to put together a 'Present Box' which resulted in the two strands of the business running in parallel. There is also a third strand of Holiday Essentials as Shona is a Caretaker Manager for Carol's Shop in Elie.
Upon entering the programme, entrepreneurs will take part in a two day Bootcamp where they will begin to learn the skills and mindsets of an entrepreneur, as well as what is expected of them throughout their journey with Entrepreneurial Spark.
Those joining the business accelerator programme will receive a wealth of support and specialist knowledge in order to help them develop, grow and scale their start-up. From day one entrepreneurs will be assigned an Enabler who will challenge and push them to ensure they achieve the best results possible, alongside fortnightly event nights which will focus on key elements of business, and constant pitch practice to ensure all Chiclets are able to confidently, and effectively, pitch to potential investors, customers and the business community.
With expert advice available from key partners including RBS/NatWest/Ulster Bank, KPMG and Harper MacLeod, Entrepreneurial Spark aims to ensure all entrepreneurs on board the programme leave with the right #GoDo attitude, a backable, credible and investible business, and a successful entrepreneurial mindset.
