St Andrews Brewing Company is celebrating news that one of its most popular beers has notched up national success.

Bob Phaff's IPA (ABV-5%) – one of the early creations in his range of bottle conditioned brews - has been named by CAMRA as the Champion Bottle Beer of Scotland 2014

The award has been announced as Bob prepares to move from his start-up premises in Glenrothes to a new purpose built bakery in St Andrews itself, where he and Tim Butler opened a town centre brew pub.

Expressing delight over the national award, Bob said that later this year he will be heading south to Great British Beer Festival and representing Scotland in the Real Ale in Bottle Competition.

He describes the champion beer as IPA as a big, bold, bitter IPA showing off a super hop kick and a depth of orange and tropical fruit flavours that are both refreshing and complex.

"It's crammed full of four aromatic hop varieties, and is a a fantastically tasty beer" said Bob.
