New Seasonal Flavours Arrive at Jannettas Gelateria

Jannettas – the legendary four-generational gelateria located in St Andrews, Fife - is delighted to announce its new season flavours to celebrate the arrival of autumn and beyond. The new flavours are available in the St Andrews parlour now.

Jannettas is renowned for partnerships with local producers and this season, has teamed up with East Neuk Orchards to create a Mulled Apple Sorbet.  Made using British Heritage variety apples, the result is refreshingly sweet and tangy with a hint of winter mulled spice, a perfect accompaniment when walking along the seaside on a crisp autumn day. 

Jannetta owners, Nicola and Owen Hazel, say, ‘we’re proud to be working with Lisa’s East Neuk Orchards. The quality of her apples are fantastic.  Known for her truly delicious pressed juice, we’re delighted that Lisa has agreed to work with us to produce one of our sorbets with and I think our customers are going to absolutely love it!’

Just in time for Halloween, limited edition flavours (until 1st Nov) include Death by Chocolate, Ghostly Cherry, Pumpkin, Spooky Oreo, Vampires Delight and Bloody Orange Sorbet.  Spider Chocolate Bombes and Spooktacular Ice Cream Cakes are also available for Halloween parties.

Alongside the classic ice cream flavours, amongst the 54 options available, Jannettas have also introduced seasonal editions including the St Andrews Week flavours: Haggis, Drambuie, Iru Bru, Tablet and Cranachan, available from Monday 25th Nov – Sunday 1st Dec. Following this, customers can expect festive flavours including Mince Pie; Christmas Pudding; Mulled Wine Sorbet; White Chocolate & Cranberry and Gingerbread.

Nicola and Owen have noticed over the years that as the weather turns colder, people’s ice cream choices changes. They commented, ‘there’s always room for ice cream no matter what the season but there’s definitely a shift in the darker, winter months towards more chocolate, Christmas-type flavours or those that have a spice or a warmth to them. The Baileys and Gingerbread Gelato are really popular’.
