Scotland's Towns Partnership, Keep Scotland Beautiful and the Sunday Herald have come together to launch the first ever Scotland's Most Beautiful High Street competition. This competition takes a broad understanding of "beautiful", and we are keen to know what it is about your High Street which makes it special!
Our high streets and town centres are the beating hearts of communities and local economies. Now we want to celebrate the contribution of our High Streets and recognise the efforts made to make these spaces clean, attractive, accessible, vibrant and inclusive for all to enjoy.
The competition encourages local authorities, business improvement districts, development trusts, community councils and any other local organisation to submit their entry to Scotland's Most Beautiful High Street.
To enter, simply send in a document (Word or PDF) consisting of one or two images and a short description (300 words max) of why your High Street deserves the award.
The competition takes a broad understanding of "beautiful", and we are keen to know what it is about your High Street which makes it special: the inclusion of green space or green infrastructure, cleanliness, shop front presentation, heritage and architecture, innovative features, or something else?
Following the launch, applications will be accepted up until 5pm, Friday 30 June 2017.
STP and KSB will then shortlist entries, and a subsequent public vote to decide the winner will be held, hosted at scotlandstowns.org. The winning entry will be announced at Scotland's Towns Partnership's Annual Conference in Paisley, on 21 November 2017, and will be given national profile by the competition's organising partners thereafter.
