The opening of V&A Dundee has shone the spotlight on the Tay Cities region, and with other recent and planned developments it’s an exciting time for tourism businesses in this part of Scotland.

The four local authorities – Angus, Dundee, Fife and Perth & Kinross, along with Scottish Enterprise and VisitScotland, are delighted to bring you the first Tay Cities Regional Tourism Conference, as part of Scottish Tourism Month.

Peter Jordan, a consultant, researcher and strategist with TOPOSOPHY, an international agency specialised in place making and marketing, has developed the new Tay Cities Regional strategy. The draft strategy will be presented at the conference, highlighting a common vision and a plan for growth that will enable the Tay Cities region to achieve its full potential over the next five years.

There will be an opportunity to hear about the key themes of Design Tourism, Food Tourism and Adventure Tourism, with practical advice about how you can get involved.

Caroline Couret, an expert in creative tourism and the founder & director of the Creative Tourism Network will talk about creating a "CreativeFriendlyDestination".

John Mulcahy from Food Tourism Ireland will share his perspective on food tourism & its role in Ireland.

Carron Tobin from the Argyll & The Isles Tourism Cooperative will discuss Limitless Discoveries, one of the megatrends impacting Scottish tourism, and its influence on the Wild About Argyll adventure and film initiative.

You will also hear about a number of exciting new tourism products and experiences and discover how the following businesses identified opportunities to grow and attract new markets;
