Tay Country Tourism Development Programme

Following on from industry feedback from the recent business support survey the Tayside Local Authorities, Scottish Enterprise, SDI & Visit Scotland are all working together to develop a programme of tourism related events, workshops and specialist support.

We kick off with a series of Digital Tourism Scotland workshops, there is a small charge of £25 for these workshops, but they have been tailored specifically for the Tourism industry.

Between now and Dec 2018 the following workshops are available to book. There are limited spaces so please book early.

 

Results Driven Digital Marketing for Tourism

Dundee & Angus College, Arbroath - 1 November 2018, 10am-1pm

 

Are you starting out or do you need an update on digital marketing but lack the core skills? Learn the key principles of digital marketing and how develop results-focused essential skills using the right tools. From identifying the right channel to evaluating campaign performance for your tourism business. You will learn the essential principles of digital marketing and how to apply these to your tourism business with practical take-aways you can implement straight away.

 

Advanced Digital Marketing for Tourism
Hotel du Vin, St Andrews - 13 November 2018, 10.30am-1.30pm

This advanced level workshop will help those with a good knowledge of digital marketing take their skills and knowledge to the next stage. Focusing on advanced techniques, this session enables delegates to develop digital marketing plans, manage and implement campaigns, and analyse results.

This intensive session will help you see immediate, practical benefits and gain a deeper understanding that will drive better results for your tourism business.

 

Data Driven Tourism Business for the Future
Perth Theatre - 21 November 2018, 10am-1pm

The data driven business of the future will be more informed than its competitors, it will make smarter decisions for better results. This workshop will help you glean insight from data. Learn how to translate these insights into actionable decisions informed by facts, not gut feel.

This 3-hour session covers the data gathering and analysis process. Learn how to use free online tools to understand consumer behaviour, what data is useful and what impact it will have on your tourism business. By understanding the unique demands of your audiences through data analytics, you will gain deeper insight into what customers want.

 

Live Video and Instant Messaging for Tourism Businesses

This practical workshop covers two social and digital media features which are rapidly gaining a foothold in tourism and travel across the world, opening new channels to wow and inspire potential visitors and supercharge the customer experience.

Live Video – Taking video content to the next level, a feature now offered by all major social media platforms, Live Video is an opportunity for you to share an authentic and personal first-hand view of the amazing things to see, do or eat in and around your business and inspire new customers to visit and past customer to return. We will show you step-by-step how to take a Live Video (you can follow the steps on your own device), discuss the types of content people want to see, and share some tips and tricks to make you more confident in tackling this popular medium!

Instant Messaging – Allowing customers to get in touch with you at a click of a button can elevate the customer experience and put your business above the rest, whether it is for general enquiries, customer service, or a quick restaurant recommendation. We’ll show you how to set up and make the most of Facebook Messenger features (including adding it to your website) and how instant messengers can help internal communication become more efficient.

 

Instagram for Tourism

With over 800 million active users, Instagram has grown to become one of the most important social media platforms for millennials and boasts the highest engagement rate per follower. In addition, a survey has suggested that as many as 48% of Instagram users use it to help pick their next holiday destination.

This practical session, will show you how to supercharge your Instagram account, grow your visibility and become better at inspiring potential visitors and engaging with followers. Through live demos, we will also show you how to find inspiration and source content (especially from guests/ visitors) and give you a few practical tips and hacks to make the most of Instagram. You will also learn how and why it pays to interact and collaborate with fellow tourism businesses and destinations
