Information from VisitScotland
"We’re closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation as it evolves and alongside our activities to provide advice and support during this difficult time, we're proactively tracking the effects of Coronavirus (COVID-19) on the industry.
There’s no doubt that the threat of this global virus is causing uncertainty in the travel industry across the world and we’re hearing news of cancellations across the Scottish tourism industry.
We’re meeting on a daily basis to look at ongoing issues with Coronavirus (COVID-19), managing risk as it pertains to our own staff, and ensuring that visitors and potential visitors have up to date information through our websites visitscotland.org and visitscotland.com.
Our own staff are now working from home in the light of latest government advice and we have taken the difficult decision to close our ICentres to protect both our staff and customers. We will also not be delivering any Quality Assurance or business advice visits. We will continue to respond to the tourism industry and their issues as normal through email and calls. All staff will continue to keep in touch and support their customers and stakeholders throughout this disruption.
We are continuously updating our advice page with information which points out to all the sources with advice on COVID-19 (e.g. Scottish Govt, helpline, workplace guidance etc). If you could point tourism businesses to that, we’d appreciate it. https://www.visitscotland.org/supporting-your-business/advice/coronavirus"
