Today (7 September 2021), VisitScotland have launched their Year of Stories 2022 marketing toolkit which has been designed to help the tourism and events industry maximise the opportunity presented by our next Themed Year.
Themed Years showcase the very best of Scotland, its product, its places and its people. The Year of Stories 2022 toolkit highlights the ways in which businesses and organisations can take part in the national campaign and effectively tell their own stories. The toolkit also includes tips for industry on how to inspire locals and visitors to discover, celebrate and share their stories of Scotland.
The toolkit is packed with practical advice that can help industry plan for the Year of Stories 2022. It includes insights into why storytelling is so important for tourism businesses and provides an opportunity to learn about the latest trends in film, TV and literary tourism in Scotland.
The toolkit provides full details of the five programme strands that will be woven throughout the Themed Year, giving businesses the chance to think about which of these themes they might be able to reflect in their own activity:
There are ten tops tips on how to get involved, as well as lots of resources, from a specially curated and free-to-use image collection to the ‘Supporting Year of Stories 2022’ logo and brand guidelines.
