A number of organisations are involved in tourism in Fife, including all these key organisations:
Fife Tourism Partnership: Fife Tourism Partnership has been set up to development tourism in Fife; it will be supported by five Local Area Tourist Associations plus St Andrews partnership and a business network for all businesses in Fife to become part of and for Fife's Community Councils click here.
VisitScotland: The national tourism agency in Scotland and is responsible for marketing Scotland, running the Tourist Information Centre network and engaging with the Tourism industry.
Scottish Natural Heritage: SNH's tourism work aims to help local communities and businesses make best-use of opportunities for developing tourism that continues to deliver the best quality visitor experience supported by a high quality natural environment. Their Area offices provide advice and guidance over tourism development, training and site management, provide funding for projects that deliver destination services for tourism, e.g. Ranger services, local information and path networks as well as work with others to provide and manage visitor attractions, such as National Nature Reserves that are important in attracting visitors to the region.
Forestry Commission Scotland: The Government Department responsible for forestry policy in Scotland. The mission of the Forestry Commission is to protect and expand Scotland's forests and woodlands and increase their value to society and the environment through sustainable forest management. Included in this work are the provision of facilities for visitors such as picnic areas, walks, mountain bike routes and forest based accommodation.
Scottish Tourism Alliance: The Alliance is an independent trade body comprising trade associations, businesses, marketing and local area tourism groups who earn their living from tourism or have an active interest in tourism
