Scotland’s Cruise Conference 2022 – What Works for Tourism returns

17 October 2022

Tuesday 8th November
1300-1700
Marriot Hotel, Glasgow Road, Edinburgh EH12 8NF

In 2022 the return of cruise ship calls around Scotland has been stronger than expected. Throughout the summer, confidence in cruising by UK and international travellers has increased, and as Covid regulatory restrictions have eased, the percentage occupancy on each itinerary has grown month by month.  In addition, new ships ordered pre-pandemic, have been delivered, and new cruise lines have emerged onto the market. The 2023 season now promises to be busier for ports and attractions than 2019.

But what does this mean for Scottish cruise ports and coastline, and the visitor attractions and hospitality businesses accessed by cruise guests on our islands and across mainland Scotland?

Scotland’s Cruise Conference – What Works for Tourism 2023 will explore the issues which arise from the re-establishment of cruise tourism for Scotland and its communities. Speakers and attendees will consider the opportunities as well as the concerns arising from the growth in this market – providing information to allow forward planning for different sectors of this market, as well as considering pressures on services and resources and the work being done by the industry to ensure sustainability.

The conference is being held at the Marriot Hotel*, Glasgow Road, Edinburgh EH12 8NF, between 1300 and 1700 on Tuesday 8th November 2022, and is supported by Cruise Scotland. Lunch for attendees will be provided prior to the event. The attendance fee is £30, waived for Scotland members.

The event is targeted at Tourism Networks and National Tourism Organisations, not individual businesses.  To reserve your place, please contact Peter Wilson at info@cruiseforth.com by 14th October 2022.

Please note – the event has been scheduled to be helpful to attendees also registering to attend the Tourism Industry Conference being held at the EICC, Edinburgh on 9th/10th November.
